Early 19th Century tipping muck cart
Also known as a ‘tip cart’, Scotch cart and muck cart. Historically this style of two-wheel cart is believed to have been first developed in Scotland but it has such a resemblance to the European version that it seems more likely to have been brought into Britain, possibly by the Normans or even earlier, and maybe was fine-tuned into the cart most commonly seen throughout Britain.
